I am a freelance photographer, born and raised in Los Angeles. My photography has primarily focused on urban and wilderness landscapes, but I like capturing and documenting the intersection of people, culture, political movements and daily life, too. I've spent the last 13 years of my life working as a community organizer in LA focused on housing, homelessness, and economic justice issues. Through that work, I have learned to appreciate the value of storytelling, community organizing and the important roles that we each need to play within them. My day job has rooted me in a vast network of working-class heroes. But because I am an avid long distance hiker and I dabble in mountaineering from time to time - I constantly find myself toggling between the city and the wilderness. I travel and shoot almost entirely solo, but only because I have such a solid family support system here at home. Thanks for visiting my work. I hope it brings you as much joy as it brings me.
